So I am trying to make DS a stocking and want to add corded piping around the edge, but I have never done this before. The piping has a tape attached to sew to the fabric, but I found that my zipper foot does not sew close enough to the piping. Is there a specific type of foot I need to do this? Thanks for any help!

Hi, I just checked and there is a free video series on ehow, how to do exactly as you are asking about. There is also a transcript of the video there too. It mentioned a piping foot. www.ehow.com/videos-on_4525_sewing-piping.htmlGood luck with your project!!! Good going Mom!!!!! Will you post a picture of it when you're done? I think there maybe a sewing discussion listed on the home page here. I have a sewing machine, but have not used it to make anything lately, just use for mending. Thanks for the reminder, maybe I'll get out a project I've wanted to do for a long time, making like a denim shop apron, with pockets so when I'm doing projects I can protect my clothes and have pockets handy to use as needed.
