I was recently informed that you need to start registering in Jan for fall? I am thinking about DS--he will be 3 in March so for him to go in fall I guess I need to start checking now? Hopefully he will be out of diapers, but it is only 2 days for 2 hours each week (4 hours total) and $90 around here (for ECFE or school ones) for a month. Anyone want to give some advice?

Where are you located? My moms group is having a preschool fair in January. And yes that is typically the time you have to register for preschool. DS will be 3 end of Feb as well and planning to go to preschool in the fall. The one we hope he goes to is around 200 a month. If you know a certain one I would call and ask when and if they will have an open house. If you do not know I would start researching a few. Some tend to fill up fast.

I am in Inver Grove (used to be in Blaine) and am thinking about the one that is inside one of the elementary schools -- it is part time and $90 a month I guess.

*most* will have an open house for you to register and check it out and see if it is a nice fit. 90 a month seems like the average after talking to a few other moms. Usually that price is 2 days a week. Now can we get this kiddos fully trained by then??LOL

I know, isn't that crazy? But it's true ... around the beginning of the year, all of the preschools (and regular schools) start gearing up for the following fall.

Yes I had to register DS in January when he started.. then we had to rush and hope he would be potty trained by then! Luckily he got it, literally, just in time to start.
I'm not sure where you are looking but DS goes to Noah's Ark in Circle Pines and he loves it there. They have 3, 4, and 5 YO preschool and the teachers are awesome.
