I am wondering how many gifts everyone labels from Santa. This is the first year we are actually doing Santa...DH finally caved in after last year (he didn't want to do it, he didn't think it was right to lie to them ha) & DD1 kind of figured out exactly what Santa does so she has been asking. I know my parents went all out on the Santa gifts and it seemed like EVERYTHING we got was from Santa, I don't want to do that. I don't want the big man getting all the credit lol! I'm thinking one wrapped gift and their stockings? What does everyone else do?

My DS is too young yet but I remember growing up and all our presents and our stockings were from Santa.

One decent sized gift wrapped from Santa (in special Santa paper). Stockings filled with candy and little presents. Everything else from Mom and Dad.

We are doing the same thing my parents did. One big gift from Santa and then some stocking stuffers, other gifts are from us or relatives. Like Cake said we do a special wrapping paper that is only for Santa gifts (that way DS doesn't get confused about why mommy & daddy have the same wrapping paper as Santa).
We aren't really doing many gifts from us. I am making him a Shutterfly book and maybe a fleece tie blanket. Our present to him will be an MOA day to see SeaLife MN, Rainforest cafe for lunch and build a bear.
We got DS his Santa gift - the Batcave - DS has asked for it for the past month every time we go to Target. DH hid it under our stairs so he doesn't find it.

We do treats and other $1 items in their stockings and then the thing they asked Santa for is by their stocking, unwrapped.

Originally, the BIG thing they asked for was from Santa and then the stocking. After several years (kids were probably 6 & 9) I was sick of Santa getting all the credit so I changed it up. After that, Dad and I got the BIG gift and Santa brought something they wanted but not Number # on the list.

The previous years we have done one gift from Santa and then the stocking. This year the 5 yr old asked for 3 things for Santa so I am going to see if I can fit 2 of them in his stocking so we stick with the same type of thing.

Santa brings the biggest toy and also stuffs our stockings. I could care less at this age if he credits Santa for the exciting gifts. That is what it is about at his age. We open gifts on EVE from all of us and he comes and gives each of us a big gift and the stockings. Love it the way we do it! All the grandparents do this as well but Santa "drops" his off early at there house. Hehe. So there we have gifts from everyone in the family AND santa

My parents sucked at the whole Santa thing, and I never believed. Unfortunately, I didn't research it very well, and Langston is able to see through the holes. We don't really do stockings...I didn't have any where to put them. We always made it seem like Santa brought everything that except what Grandma, Grandaddy, and Auntie gave him.
Last year, Langston's donor and I went in together on a Nintendo DS. Then, when the donor gave him DS games for his birthday...he said, "How did you know that I had a DS?" Donor was pissed. I think that Langston knows the truth, but realizes that if he doesn't pretend to believe that I won't keep it up.
When Langston was 3, he found his motorcycle in the bathroom on Christmas Eve. I don't know how he got in there. But, he asked, "Why is there a motorcycle in the bathroom?" Then a few months later, he asked...."Why did Santa put the motorcycle in the bathroom and leave the box in the garage?"
I don't know what I will do the day that Langston tells me that he knew all along, the things that I lie to him about!

I am with Love on this one, I don't care if Santa takes the credit for the big gift at a young age. When they don't believe anymore is good enough for me to start taking the credit. We do one large gift and stuffed stocking for Santa. We wrap everything other than candy---because the boys love unwrapping gifts so much and I want to use all of my expensive paper, haha!

We've always done all gifts from Santa, this backfired on me a little this year when DD age 4, asked what Toys for Tots was for since Santa brought the presents. I had to think quick and the only thing I could come up with was these are kids without fireplaces, so no way for Santa to get in. My friend told me that was the problem with all gifts from Santa, she only does 1 and the stockings. I may start to phase out some of the Santa presents and make them from mom, dad and brother this year.

Anything from Santa is in the kids' stockings with maybe a toy or two on the floor nearby (wrapped in the special "Santa only" gift wrap) if they don't fit in the stocking. All of the gifts under the tree are to and from family members. I like the "big presents" to be from Mom and Dad, while Santa brings maybe one "medium" gift and a few smaller items.
