Let me first brag a little, because I am going from being completely craft challenged, to starting to do fun little crafts with DS. Honestly, the idea of crafts scared me a little, but through the help of a friend and Google, I've found some easy "beginner" crafts to get started!! Anywho...looking at the ingredients lists for most of these projects, I'm gonna have to make a run to the store to build my craft supply. In your opinion, where are the best places to buy stuff? I want to invest in a glue gun too, where can I get one for pretty cheap? I appreciate any and all advice!

It really depends on what kind of "supplies" you are talking about. I love Michaels and if you check the Sunday paper they usually always have coupons for so much off you whole order or so much off a certain item.
I think glue guns are generally inexpensive. I was just looking at them at Walmart last week and the gun itself was only $3 it was the packages of glue sticks that cost more then the gun depending on how many you intend to get.
Happy Crafting!

I would also say Walmart for most stuff.. and take advantage of the 40 and 50 percent off coupons for Michael's and Joann's. I get at least one for both in most Sunday papers. I've been adding to my craft supplies too and have saved a bunch doing the coupon thing and going to Walmart!

The dollar sections at Target, Michaels and JoAnns are great to find supplies. I also think Walmart has a good selection of craft supplies.

Thanks ladies! I'm so new and inexperienced lol so I know my question sounded a little crazy! I was thinking Walmart for the most part, never been to Michael's so I'll have to check them out! Thanks!

I heard about a great place through ECFE called Art Scraps and it is just what it sounds like I guess (haven't been there yet) I heard it was over by Grand or Randolph or something in St. Paul. You can go in and buy shiny paper, etc and just get what you need instead of getting huge pack for one project. They do have a website and one days where you can fill a grocery bag for $5 or something like that. ArtScraps-- has $15 classes too

The girls and I love going to JoAnns or Michaels! We find lots of things to do there. Their favorite are those little wood peices for 25 cents or more to paint during holidays.

art scraps is awesome!!! They take donations too.. if someone has an overload of something, they can bring it there! I haven't been there in ages.. I may have to go if I can get some time w/o ds!! It's the kind of store that you can't go in and leave empty handed. haha

I just went to website www.artstart.org where they carry art scraps-- overstock, factory reject, etc that would be headed to landfill so cheap source for misc. art materials-- you buy by the bag

I haven't been there, but my daughter Andie speaks highly of ArtScraps. She's found good bargains there.
Another super-cheap option is to pick up used craft supplies at School/Church/Neighborhood garage sales. I've found un-opened packages of various supplies, as many people don't use everything they buy and then want to declutter. Obviously, the garage sale option only works in the Spring, Summer, and Autumn...it won't meet your current wish list. Have fun!!!
