Poor Solveig is getting her 2 year molars. Getting teeth in has never really bothered her, but these suckers sure are! Any tips on how to make her feel better? Pain reliever doesn't seem to work. Putting her to nap and bed is hell because she is in so much pain. So much that we broke down and gave her back the paci last night. It sure helped! Our screaming toddler who would do anything to get out of her bedroom (climb over the gate, throw herself on the floor and get a bloody nose, etc) walked back into her room and and crawled into bed, no problems, when she got the paci back! All three of us slept GREAT last night, which was needed bcause it has been a while! PS...I know it's been a while since I have posted. Been super busy subbing! Enjoying a day relaxing at home with my peanut today!

I should mention that as soon as she got the paci, she stuck it straight into the back of her mouth and started gnawing away. poor thing!

Teething rings that are cold or frozen or teething gel which can numb the tooth. A cold wet washcloth.

She is fine when she is awake. Just bad when she tries to sleep. The paci worked so well that I think we'll stick with that! Just looking for other ideas. Forgot about the teething gel, thanks Jodi!

Did you try some pain meds at all? We hate medicine but will not hesitate during teething since it seems to be the only thing to help. DS1 took a paci and that did help too like with S. Ds2 however refuses pacis--he thinks they are evil, you should see the looks he gives them, haha. Good luck my lady, hopefully the paci isn't too difficult to take away again afterwords!

Oragel makes these awesome q-tips with baby oragel inside them. You snap one end of it off and the oragel comes out the other end so you don't have to put it on your finger in the back of her mouth. Also giving ibuprofen instead of tylenol will help reduce any swelling.

Tablets for sure! I would watch if she is chewing the nipple on the paci tho. She could chew a piece off and choke on it. I think that is what people say when it is time to get rid of the paci is when they can chew it. No good. Poor Kiddo

So sorry to hear Solveig is having such teething pain. Hoping the pain will lessen soon. Glad paci is providing some relief for her.
Glad to hear you have had subbing jobs. Paychecks are very helpful with your family budget, in these economic times. Kudos!!
Glad to "see" you here today, but not for S teething pain.

We had a really tough time with the molars. Doc put him on ibuprofen (tylenol didn't work at all). The key was he took it 3 times a day for 2 weeks. It had to build up in his system. Then we used oragel at bedtime. He was still grumpy, but at least not screaming all day.
