Were going to be spending a couple of weeks in NY at my mom's in may and she wants to provide his sleeping arrangements so I don't have to bring anything with me...
When you take your toddlers to sleep over at someone elses house, where/what do they sleep in?
We were thinking of getting a toddler bed.. but by the time we get out there again he may out grow it.. We found an airmattress for kids (twin sized) with air bumpers that I think would last quite a while, but I don't know if he'd sleep on it... He's too big for a pack n play (even a large one)...
Thanks!!

My girls like sleeping on air mattresses....its different to them! If no mattress is available they sleep in sleeping bags on the floor.

If they have a king bed he will sleep in the middle of us. We co slept so that is what usually works best. At places where we dont have a bed to sleep in and only couches he will sleep on an airbed with DH. I move too much and get up to use the bathroom and once a heavier person gets up they sink to the floor lololol. If sharing a bed isnt a choice I would have her get an airbed. DSS sleeps just fine on the one we have. Even in a tent!

My kids got a sleeping bag at I believe age 2 or 3. Good Christmas present idea for him. It could even be left at the NY gma's place.

My kids sleep on the floor if they are at grandmas. Their are air mattress sleeping bags if you do not like the floor option.

We would usally let them sleep on a pull out bed or air mattresses work great too.....they think it's fun.

My girls sleep on the floor. I make a nice soft "bed" out of blankets and they LOVE it!

When Tristan sleeps over at grandma's house, he loves to sleep in her bed with her. Grandpa gets kicked to the couch lol.. They went and bought a day bed for the spare bedroom for him, but he prefers sleeping with grandma for now.

My mom sleeps in a smaller bed and it's WAY high off the ground.. Ds is still in a crib currently, and has no desire to move out of one just yet. We are driving, and when we stay in hotels he cosleeps.. but it's usually just me and him... At my mom's I have a bedroom, but it's empty, lol.. We borrow my aunt's aerobed but I roll too much for him to sleep w/ me in that.. I"m afraid he'd get shoved off the bed.. and it's all hard wood... so no sleeping bags w/o an air mattress... I think I like the airmattress and sleeping bag idea so she can just pack it up and store it while we are not there.
I guess I just get hesitant about an actual bed at mom's since he's never slept in one.. and it's doubtful at this point that he'll be in a toddler bed here by May..

Another alternative would be to take the couch cushions and put them on the floor then put a twin fitted sheet over them to help them stay together. Beyond that, air mattress. I love having one just in case

DS and my niece just love having sleep overs in sleeping bags. We fold an adult sized sleeping bag in 1/2 so he has extra padding. My niece is 2 1/2 and she was so excited to sleep in a sleeping bag when she slept over at Thanksgiving. Whenever we go up to the lake or to grandparents' houses we use a sleeping bag once he grew out of a pack n play

That regalo cot from the post above is AWESOME! I have one that we use for camping and any other trips we take. If I am sleeping in a room on an air mattress I usually wedge the cot between the wall and my mattress and she sleeps really well.
