I live in the country and I get so sick of people who can't seem to keep their dog in their yard! Aside from being very annoying, it's dangerous! I live near a very busy road - with dump trucks and cement trucks. We have an underground dog fence and it's the best money I've ever spent. I know not everyone can afford it, but there are other things an owner can do. Keep the dog inside when you aren't home, have an outside kennel for the dog, or put said dog on a leash when it's out of the house/kennel. It's also dangerous since I have kids and I don't need stray dogs coming into my yard. I don't know if this dog is a biter, I don't know if this dog is up-to-date on it's vaccinations, I don't know if this dog has intestinal parasites. Please keep your dog in your own yard people!!! Thanks allowing me to rant!

It seems people lack common sense with their pets sometimes.

I have a few neighbors who don't keep their dogs on leashes....they are pretty good about staying in their yard though and seem pretty well trained, so they don't bug me.

Ugh, I HATE when other dogs come in my yard! We've had a couple of bad experiences with that. One dog attacked mine while he was pooping! Came running up from behind and just clamped on to Buddy's neck! Another one got him in the face (different occasion.) We have neighbors a few houses down who let their old dog wander the neighborhood- she attacked Buddy when we first got him, he was just a pup on a leash and now he cries constantly anytime we chain him up. We trained Buddy to stay in our yard. Well, DH did, not me so much. Anyway, the neighbors got in trouble last fall for their dog being loose all of the time (we have a new neighbor who is a cop and dogless and our local police FINALLY listened about the wandering dog!) It was a great year but now all of a sudden that neighbor dog is back wandering around every few days! UGH! We also have neighbors down the road whose first dog got run over so they got a St Bernard and let her wander around. Well after catching her in MY yard again (across the street and down the block from where she should have been) I walked her home and chained her up in front of their house. They came out to see what was going on and I told them that if they care for their dog at all they need to keep her chained up at home or she would be roadkill just like their last one. They also had let her cross the street to the park and she is so big that she'd scare a lot of the kids. I haven't seen that dog loose since.

Yup annoying. I was bit by a dog when I was 6. I was on my bike and he jumped up and mauled my face. So I do NOT take strays or lack of ownership lightly.

It IS sad. These owners need to take a minute and think about the safety of their dogs!
