Walmart has Hallmark recordable story books on clearance for under $9.
Be sure to check the baby aisles at Target for clearance of bedding and newborn sets. They are swapping out the designs.

Walmart has Hallmark recordable story books on clearance for under $9.. Do they have any general titles? Or is this the Christmas ones?

Frosty was the only one I would consider to be non Christmas. Otherwise it was The Christmas Story and Charlie Brown Christmas were all that were left at my local store.

We went to Blaine Target and it was still 30 -50 % off, I NEED to know when it hits 70% I will take all the kids with if I have too. There are toys for the kids birthdays that are this month and I need to buy them.

Frosty has Santa in it doesn't it? At least the tv special does. Bummer. I know there's a general one about a grandparent or something that I'd love to get at some point.

Not sure but I know there are many general books at the Hallmark stores. Unfortunately they rarely go on sale.

My parents gave DS the Hallmark recordable book "The Very First Christmas" and he loves it! Such a great idea for a gift.
One of my friends in book club said that her sister used to read books aloud and record them with her computer and burn it onto a CD and give it as a gift to her kids. She said that she would use a wine glass and tap it with a knife to indicate the time to turn the page. I thought that was a good idea.

I bought everything I'll need for Christmas next year besides the wrapping paper and the gifts themselves (and I've already got that started)
Target today.. spent 20 dollars on everything from tape, to shirt boxes, to bows, to a tinsel wreath, to ornaments, to Christmas cards, a christmas fleece pj's and socks for the new baby for next year. Pj's came to 2.60, and the socks about .60!!!
spent 20, saved almost 60.
Also, Sams club had the original lincoln log sets (originally 55 dollars) for 19 dollars, so we picked that up for next Christmas! WHOOHOOO

Went to the Target in Brooklyn Center tonight. Toys were 30-50% off, there were girls jeans 50% off, a bunch of other clothes were 30-50% off too (baby clothes also!), and the Christmas stuff was 70% off.

Target in Blaine had a few toys 70. Mostly princess tents and lightning mckqueen stuff. Most all the rest of stufff was 50. I did get a cart full of little things, girl duplos (b-day partys coming up) 4 hoodes towels for 5 bucks each, so all in all I did pretty well.
