DS (3 1/2) had swimming lessons last night. They are working on putting face in the water more and more each lesson. After lessons DH said when DS went to go #2 on the potty that some clear water came out, but his stool was firm and it did not appear to be diarrhea.
DS has had a couple more instances (2 at daycare - he was sent home) today. It appears to be when he sits down to go #2 and he pushes that water comes out (clear) and then stool (not loose). He has no fever and is not acting sick.
Any thoughts on this? Anyone else experienced this with swimming (and potentially swallowing water)?

sorry I can't help with this but maybe you can call and speak to a nurse at your clinic or call the number on the back of your insurrance card and see if they can give you some answer or suggestions. That's usually what I do when I am unsure about something.

I've never heard of this and I used to be a swimmer, swallowed lots of water. Calling a nurse would be your best bet for now, or get him into the doc. Best of luck, I hope it's nothing serious.

I taught swim lessons for 10 years and I have never heard of anything like this. I would also suggest to call the nurse line.

I agree with the others. We take DS swimming all the time and this has never happened to him.

Hasn't happened since I posted this. Went #2 with no issues last night.
Maybe he had a viral bug? It was just odd that it was clear liquid with firm stool. We also swim a lot and he has had swim lessons for awhile, but is just now putting his face in regularly.... if it keeps up we'll call the Dr.
