How do you do it?? I'm not talking about the bowl, that's the easy part lol. How do you clean the filter/motor area? Can you? We run one in DS's room every night, but it's starting to look a little gross and I don't want to run it anymore unless I can properly clean it. Is it even possible, or do I have to buy a new one?

with a quick glance of the web-- found that there should be manufacter's instructions for cleaning and otherwise soaking filter in vinegar for 1/2 hour will help clean mineral build-up

My humidifier came with cleaning instructions. Vinegar for calcium, and bleach it at end of season.
