Hi ladies!
So since I work full-time and go to school I am super super busy and don't get to spend as much time with DS as I would like. I had planned on taking off this whole week because it is both mine and DS' spring break and I wanted to spend time with him, but someone else already had it off so my request was denied :/
Instead, I'm going to take off next Monday & Tuesday and dedicate the whole time to him. I want to take him to the zoo (if it's as nice out as it's supposed to be!) and maybe a movie. We don't have a ton of money to spend, but we do have some so I was also thinking lunch or dinner one of the days.
Do you ladies have any suggestions for fun things that we can do together? Inside or outside!

The zoo is always a good one. If you bring him to lunch you could take him to McD's and let him play in the plaything. Also, you could just take him to a park and play together and pack a picnic, have a movie night at home with popcorn/ice cream sundaes.

Outside: Como Zoo, create a "scavenger hunt" for things to look for on a walk (I have done photo scavenger hunts where they have to take a picture when they find things), parks (if it dries up a bit)
Inside: Shoreview Community Center indoor water park & indoor playground (can't tell if you are off today and tomorrow or Mon 3/19 & Tues 3/20 - the indoor water park is open during the day next week 3/19-3/23, otherwise just evenings), Science Museum to see Pirates exhibit, Nickelodeon Universe & Rainforest Cafe at MOA, make special craft project for mom and dad, Go to see the Lorax at the movie theater, make his favorite meals/bake a special treat together.
Have fun!

I can't remember how old your son is. Yes, Choo Choo Bob's is fun, as is the Model Train Museum and the Jackson Street Roundhouse, all of which are in St. Paul. The Roundhouse and the Museum both have an admission fee but IIRC it's only a couple of bucks. Choo Choo Bob's is free and they do a great story time, also free. MIA is free and very fun. And there is such a wide variety of stuff, you could find things related to many interests. We often head there when we are looking for a special mom/son adventure. What are your son's interests? I might have more ideas.

Roseville Library has preschool storytime. We go in the evening when we can, but I think they have Monday mornings too.

I think he would love choo choo bobs! He likes trains, cars, legos, dinosaurs, super heros.. I'm thinking I'll take him to the zoo and possibly to see the lorax on Monday and choo choo bobs on Tuesday.

The Lorax is a good movie. Choo Choo Bobs is good they have a few trains you can look at as they go around a track and a few train tables to play with.
If you decided to take a McD's route you could find one that isn't "ours" and has a different playset to it, maybe more time would be spent there.
What about Grand Slam? Bowling? For a place to eat my 6 yr old LOVES OCB and that is not a place that we go to weekly so it is more of a treat. Adventure Park in Ham Lake.

OCB is a really good idea, especially since he's sooooo picky. He likes Adventure Park but since it will just be the 2 of us idk how much fun he would have because we normally go there with friends.
I didn't even consider grand slam or bowling, but those would both be good evening ideas too!
I don't want to overwhelm the kid but I do want to have lots of activities planned so we can stay busy both days.

Pack a lunch and go to the childrens museum! It is 8.95 a person. Usually around 5 to park. Then stop at candyland on the way home! Choo choo bobs will be nuts on tuesday as they have story time that day. We went once and it wasnt even fun . I say como too and bring a lunch and maybe treat him to popcorn. Have fun!

You can get an Adventure Pass at the library to go to the Children's Museum for free. You still have to pay for parking I believe.
What's OCB?

Biking, hiking, rock climbing. If tired of going out, do some yard work, make a fire, roast marshmallows. I would also ask him for ideas. Enjoy your time together
