Our 17 month old little girl moans and groans during her sleep. She started doing it probably about 7-8 months. It's not all night, just little periods of moans and we're pretty sure she's asleep when she's doing it. But now she's started doing it during nap time. She's otherwise perfectly healthy but this wakes us up all the time!!! Anyone else have kids who make weird noises when they sleep? I'm hoping it's just a phase and will pass...hopefully soon!!

Oh yes, my son (4yo) has been making noises in his sleep since he was an infant! He talks in his sleep all the time too. Just last night he was yelling "No, Mom, no no no! You don't understand!"

Both of my older DDs talk and laugh in there sleep just like DH. It scares the crap out of me but it's completely normal. She could be dreaming and reacting to those dreams by moaning.

Probably just dreams. My son talks in his sleep. Occasionally we have a child walking to the bathroom in their sleep.

Both my DDs talk in their sleep, too. They also yell at each other while they are completely asleep

DS1 has always cried and talked in his sleep. It has seemed to lessen a little bit as he gets older.

DS2 is almost 3 weeks old and you wouldn't believe the noises that come out of him in his sleep. I think he's going to be in his own room very soon.
