We may have chatted about this already, but I couldn't find the thread. At what age do you have your kids do certain chores?
My kids are 7 and 4. Once a week the 7 YO takes out the trash in the kids' bedroom, bathroom, and the guest bedroom and helps set the table. The 4YO helps set the table. They both have to clean up their toys.
As they get older and more mature, I'll have them do things like: dusting, vacuuming, helping with meal preps. My goal is to teach them to do things so that when they're on their own they'll know how to take care of themselves, and also to teach them the value of working together to keep a house tidy and comfortable.

I have chore charts for both my kiddos. They are 10 and 4.
My 4 year old is very enthusiastic and always wants to check off his chart. I have even the daily duties on there, since it makes it feel more rewarding. On his I have: feed dog, pick out clothes, make bed, brush teeth, take bath, pick up toys, put away toys and help pick up dog doo-doo.
My 10 year old is not as enthused by this, but it helps him as a reminder for his responsibilities. His chores are: let dog out, put dishes away, homework, brush teeth, take shower, read for 30 minutes, make bed, and clean room.
I have a jar made up with tickets inside. If they complete all of their duties for the week, the get to draw out of the jar. They could draw anything from: earn 1 to 5 dollars, movie night, pick dinner, play game with mom, make cookies, extra 15 minutes to bedtime, have friend over, go to the park, etc.
My DF now says that we should add a monetary number to their chores; like a weekly allowance. They like the money, but I think they get more excited to draw a fun activity out of the jar.

Our 7 year old helps set the table, helps clear the table, puts away his laundry (we wash and fold it) and cleans up his toys. He also did a great job scrubbing floors recently. It's probably time to add something else to his list, so maybe that should be it. Oh, and he offered to sweep recently when he saw me doing it. Apparently they take turns sweeping after lunch at school so he said he knows how and can do it I said, go for it!

I guess I don't give my girls a whole lot of chores besides picking up after themselves. My 4.5 year old enjoys vacuuming and helps wipe down tables every once in awhile. She will also feed the animals if her 2.5 year old sister doesn't get to it first. The little one loves feeding the animals their breakfast! I think I'm going to teach DD1 to help with dishes soon...the rinsing and drying part at least.

DS is almost 4 and we have just started with chores. Right now he feeds the cat in the mornings, picks up his toys at night, puts his laundry away (after we have folded it). He likes to help dust and sweep but this needs to be supervised.
