We are renting a cabin at a resort a few miles north of Brainerd and was wondering if anyone knows of any fun things to do on the way there we can stop and see etc.? Check in isnt till later so we want to leave early and hit a few sight seeing spots (if there is any lol) Looks like we are taking 169 north for most the way. IF anyone has any fun stops please share with us! Oh and this is going to be sooo fun as DH has been traveling nutso and we get to have time together without distractions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In Garrison they have a huge Walleye it is right at the end of 169 that you will be turning to some other road. If you are going tomorrow they have Garrison Play Days going on, they have parade, and games stuff like that. Otherwise I have not a clue of anything else to see on your way up there. I think there is Paul Bonion(sp) land but we have never been there.

Cissy was correct. There is Paul Bunyan Land on the way to Brainerd, from Garrison. www.paulbunyanland.com/Other than that, there isn't much until you get to Brainerd. Brainerd/Baxter has a go cart place, Pirate's Cove Mini Golf, bowling alley, Nisswa has a water slide area and a few quaint shops that are fun for kids, and Baxter has a couple of waterparks. I grew up there, so let me know what else you want to find on your journey.

We love Pirate's Cove mini golf. Nisswa is a lot of fun as well to walk around and the turtle races are always great.
I wouldn't waste my time at Paul Bunyan Land. We were just there this summer and it was pricey and the kids were bored with it. It is in a new location that is not very convenient either.
