We do something similar with DS who is 4. It is a sticker chart and he can earn 4-5 stickers a day. He earns one sticker for doing his morning routine on task/on time/no behaviors (breakfast, brush teeth, get dressed), one for feeding the cat, one for cleaning up his toys and one for doing his bedtime routine on task/on time/no behaviors. He can earn additional stickers for extra things he helps with, being good in other situations. We started this in May (right after he turned 4). Once a page (I printed pages w/ 28 boxes) is filled w/ stickers he can pick out a "small item" ($1-3), if he saves up and has 2 pages it is a "medium" item ($5-10), 3 pages = "large" item ($15-20), 4 pages = "x-large item) ($25-30). He is good at delayed gratification and so far has chosen to wait a whole month or more to earn the most expensive item. The threat of losing a sticker usually works well. He is much better behaved with this system.
Hope that you have good luck with yours!
