I apologize if this is in the wrong category, and by no means to I find this to be a humorous situation. But I really DON'T know what to do....
I have a friend, who I have been friends with for 10 years. A few years ago she started dating this guy. She's happy most of the time, but he's not my favorite person. Fast forward. I have recently noticed that when BF is around, he smells. Like Urine. To the point where I find myself having to hold my breath when we're in close quarters. Sometimes it even makes me gag. I have attributed it to his Diabetes. (he doesn't follow the Dr.'s instructions about caring for himself, and keeping his diabetes in check) I have never said anything to his GF, because I don't really know what to say. So, yesterday my friend was here, without her BF, and now I've noticed that SHE smells like urine too! What do you say?! How do I politely tell my friend that she has bad hygiene without offending her? I really like her as a person, but I can't really handle what's going on lately. Thanks.

Maybe go buy her some good smelling body wash and lotion and stuff like that and tell her its for being such a good friend. And hope she uses it.

I would honestly just be up front with her. Considering the length of your friendship, she should be very happy that you told her! I know I would!
Maybe say something like "GF, I don't know how to tell you this without offending you, but I jsut wanted to let you know that you and BF sometimes smell like urine. I know that this is embarassing, but I just wanted to let you know and I hope that you would do the same for me" Or something alone those lines lol...if all else fails, do what Brandi says!!

My only other idea would be to say something like, "Did you change laundry detergent? I hate to say anything but you don't smell like you used to."
This is tough -- but I agree, I would want to know if it was me!!! I'd be embarrassed initially but thankful later.

I don't know how what I would do in that situation. Some good ideas so far. Good luck.
