Like the title says I have a weird gripe regarding our renter...He showers 2 or 3X a day. Seriously.
Dh wants to talk to him, but he doesn't know how to approach it.
I can see if you were dirty or stinky, but this guy is a clean or neat freak (I hate using that word, but couldn't think of another one to us).
TIA

what's wrong with him showering that many times a day? Usually when someone is a "neat freak" they also like to keep their body clean....like showering a few times a day.....there are worse things you could be dealing with.....
Not a big deal in my book.

You can't really "talk" to him about it. He is a renter so I assume he is paying you rent. He is allowed to do whatever he wants to do. If you are worried about the price of water then when his contract with you is up you can tell him you will be raising his rent so much. That way you can pay for the extra water usage.

You can't control how much your renter showers but you can raise the rent due to the increased water bill.

It is none of your business how many times a day he showers. I'm sure there is some sort of privacy law that would back that up.

I can see how you guys would start worrying about your water bill, but I too don't know what you can do, other than raise his rent. Out of your own curiosity, you might want to look at your water bills from before he moved in and see how much the cost has increased now that he's renting from you. It might be less than you think -- or more for that matter, and that can help you determine how best to proceed.

oi ve.....a lot of people shower two times a dayor more... I know my husband does every time he works out, and sometiems in the morning when he gets up too.. so it could be up to three times a day... it's not something you should talk to him about.... for privacy reasons and you may embarass him... he may have issues with body odor, or maybe he works out, or maybe he just likes to be clean. I doubt that your water bill will be increased significantly either... maybe a dollar?

I suppose you are all right. It is a silly manner. I will tell dh to just forget about it. We have a well so I don't know if it really matters.

My brother showers and bathes 3-4 times a day too. It is indeed none of your business however it is really bad for your skin to shower that often.
