DS is 15 months old and only has 6 teeth (4 on top, two on bottom, all in front). Last two teeth he got was at 9 months and has not gotten anymore and shows no sign of getting anymore. I'm worried he won't get anymore. He has is 15 month baby well visit next Monday and I'm going to bring it up to the doctor. Meanwhile we keep joking he's going to need baby dentures.
Does anyone else have a baby that was a late teether?

I know a kid that did not get any teeth until right before he turned 2. He is 4 now has all the teeth he should have and it never effected him.

My daughter didn't get her first tooth until she was 10 months.

My daughter will be 2 next week. She had only 3 teeth at the age of 15 months. She has since got all the teeth that she is supposed to (between 18-24 months). The pediatrician said many times when teeth come in later it is a sign that puberty will also start later (we are looking at this as a definate plus). Hope that eases your mind.

All kids are different and they will come in when they come in. While it is a bit of a concern, I don't think it's something to be terribly worried about at this point. I'd say if no more come in for three months, then it would be a bit more of a concern.

My DD didn't get her first tooth until 12 months old. Hers came very slowly, but they all came. I'd still bring it up for the well visit since you are concerned.
