I sewed my own crib bumpers but they were very thing and tucked between the mattress and the crib to keep everything tight. My DS is 1 1/2 and I still have two of the bumpers in and I am plan to keep them in until he is done with his crib and when we have other children I will still use bumpers. IMO I understand risks of certain things but I am sick of other people trying to tell me exactly what to do with my child, there is risks involved in everything. Are they going to start moderating playground equipment or stairs so kids don't fall. I survived being a kid without all these rules/laws and guess what so did everyone else

i used them with DD, we don't use them with DSD, and we might with the new baby just because we're seeing DSD get her legs stuck all the time.
