My Darling Daughter is going to be a senior this year! I started with MLM right after I dropped my oldest off at college and now my youngest is going to be a senior!
What do you remember about your senior year? What would/wouldn't you do?

My senior year was actually really fun... I had great time with my friends, worked on the weekends and got pretty good grades. One thing I'm glad I didn't do, was get in on the senior prank.. a lot of kids got suspended and were not able to attend graduation, some lost their privilege to go to prom. I didn't skip school, and followed the rules, because in my opinion, sr. year is not a year to mess around. I did a lot with yearbook club, and the newspaper... get involved, that always looks good on college applications!! I became close with a couple of teachers that I eventually used as academic references. I was always thinking ahead. That year was a bit distracting however because we had some problems with gangs, bomb threats and there was often police officers at our school. Stupid kids!

I second getting involved. The relationships I developed through being involved on the Debate team and various sports (tennis, softball, basketball, volleyball), were the best ones I had in high school.
I wish I had been more confident in myself. Other than that I have no regrets about my senior year. I am glad I went to formals and homecoming, etc.

I remember very little. I remember going to prom with a guy who was talked into asking me. Only thing he said to me all night was "ready to go?" every time there was a transition in the evening/night. Funny thing? It's DH's Monday Night movie night buddy!
I also got a severe sunburn the day before my grad party. Looked like a lobster and couldn't wear a bra. Not a pretty site even at 18!

Senior year wasn't my prettiest year. I was yearbook editor. I had a part in the play. I was emotionally a very big mess. I had strong issues with my mom, which gave me the incentive to move far away from home.
I wish that I had believed in myself a whole lot more and saw myself for who I was instead of believing what other people told me.

I had a really great senior year -- good friends, lots of activities. I was in sports so that kept me busy, plus I waited tables so I didn't have any time to get into trouble!
One positive thing at my school (each class around 300 kids) was that by the time kids got to be seniors, they seemed to be more accepting and less judgmental, a little easier on each other than when they were sophomores or juniors and still trying to fit in and find their place. By senior year it seemed more people were friends with people outside their normal group. So my advice would be to reach out, if there's a fellow student you've liked as a person but haven't had a chance to be friends with, now's your chance to reach out. If they don't want to be your friend, that's fine, you're almost done anyway. And you may make a friend who'll be a positive influence on your life. (Easier for me to say, I was pretty confident, outgoing and self assured in high school, and I know that's hardly the norm.)

Oh I loved senior year! I had a boyfriend at the Air Force academy. We went to prom and both of us were recovering from Mono. Biggest issue though, my dress was the one from How to Lose a Guy in 10 days. And, with it being yellow, and me being yellow from mono it was quite the site. Haha. I was in activities but busy with work.
I would've changed how much I worked. I worked 3 jobs. Two nanny and one restaurant. Started work at 3:30 am and finished at 11 pm. Squeezing school into that wasn't fun. My mom made me pay rent at 16.
