Hmmmm....that's a tough one. I have received many thoughtful gifts over the years.
My parents bought me a used car for college graduation. This made it possible for me to move to the Twin Cities. I didn't have any money to buy a car or a job to finance it so I would have been stuck in my hometown for awhile. It also helped me to get on my feet financially by not having a car payment or using all my savings up.

I've also received a lot of special gifts. The one that I remember the most was the car my parents gave me for Christmas when I was 18. I was acting reallyyyyy spoiled and complaining about not doing gifts for Christmas that year. We were supposed to be going somewhere and I walked outside and they had a big sign & bow on the car. I started crying. I've felt guilty about the attitude I had that day ever since!

A few come to mind.
- I have a quilt my mom made for me for high school graduation. It was coming apart and I was sad about it and my wife snuck it out of the house (in the summer, hoping I wouldn't miss it. I didn't) to a friend of mine who quilts. The friend repaired it and gave it back to me for my birthday. I was so surprised to open the box because I didn't even know she had it. I was so touched!
- Several friends chipped in and got me a shofar for my 40th birthday. I have always wanted one but they are so expensive. Now it will be a family heirloom.
- Tina and Ian got me beautiful Shabbat candlesticks, also for my 40th. I had been using the ones I got for my Bat Mitzvah and they were getting really wobbley.
