Too much other stuff going on today - city parade (DH was in it, I was transport) and DS's housewarming party at his new place.
What did YOU think?

It was great, exciting. I'm not in general big on crowds but for something like this I'm game. We road it from Union Station in St. Paul to downtown Minneapolis and back.
I was bummed that a lot of things that were supposed to be going on to celebrate on the way were canceled because of the rain, but it was still just fun to ride it!

Today was SLP's big celebration today; parade, food trucks at the park, multiple inflatables for the kids, bands, etc. NOT a good day. It stopped raining while Dh was walking the parade with the cub scouts but by the time they finished the route (they were at the very beginning) it had started raining again.
DH and I will take a green line adventure this fall. We did the blue line last year just for the heck of it.

I'm thankful it wasn't MY parade. I just brought him stuff, delivered Bunsette to take pictures and picked him up at the end. My cub scout days ended when my boys' cub scout days ended.....12 years ago!
A cute story quote from DH's FB Father's Day letter to his dad: "I helped organize the cub scouts to be in the local parade yesterday. I didn't think we'd go with the rain and wind we're getting, but it stopped just long enough to get it in. I suppose we had about about 30 kids and parents, which was a pretty good turn out. I had one scout ask me, "Who is your kid?" and I told him that all my kids were grown up and not in scouts anymore. "Then why are you here?" I had to think on that, and finally replied "To help you be a grown up, too." I don't think he heard my answer because a unit in front of us was throwing Tootsie Rolls and he was off to claim some as his own."

We plan to ride for fun on of these days. We were at a friend's party all day Saturday. Too bad about the rain, but excited that this project is finally ready to go!
