What's your "window washing" method? What cleaner do you use, do you prefer paper towels or newspapers, etc.? I need to wash my windows this weekend before the weather gets even COLDER. I'm never thrilled with how they turn out though. They get cleaner but I always end up with some streaks or something--how annoying to work hard and then have them not be SPOTLESS. So I'm curious about what the recommended strategies are from you ladies!! Thanks!

I always have the same problem, so I'll be curious as to advice people give. I've tried paper towels and newspaper and both give me streaks with windex.

I'd be curious to hear what others have said too. I usually just use paper towels but hubby uses newspaper. Both seem to leave streaks.

Not to push my own products, but Norwex have two great cloths (the Enviro Cloth and the Window Cloth) to get windows, mirrors etc. clean with just water and I promise NO STREAKS! In my presentation I smear a window with butter, wipe it up just using a damp Enviro Cloth, and then polish the window with the window cloth and no streaks! I also have a client that had gotten new windows in their basement that came with a protective sheet on them. After they pulled off the protective sheet, it left a flim on the windows that they couldn't get off. They even went after it with mineral spirts. Norwex was able to get their windows sparkling, with no streaks! It's 30.99 (plus S&H and tax) for both cloths. Check them out at my website daniellesuess.norwex.biz. If you would like more info message me.

I know this is probably not healthy but I add a small amount of ammonia to my window cleaner.

I usually use windex and paper towels. I don't notice a lot of streaks the thing that irritates me....especially when I clean the mirrors is the lint that is left behind from the towels. DH will clean the car windows with some special glass cleaner and newspaper and they always come out looking great....which reminds me I need to ask him to wash the windows in the truck again. LOL

Windex (it says it leaves no streaks on the bottle I get) and paper towels...I only buy up and up paper towels for the most part and I usually do not have any streaks at all. Speaking of which I should probably clean my windows because of my dog.

I use windex with paper towels and go back over with a bunched up newspaper. as long as I don't let one side of the newspaper get soaked, I never have streaks. I always thought that was a genius idea.
