with all the "breathing problems" ds has been having, we decided to have our furnace and vents professionally cleaned as well as buy a new vacuum. It's an LG KOMPRESSOR® PLUS Upright Vacuum, doesn't use a bag. I always considered myself to keep a pretty clean home, dusting and vacuuming on a regular basis. But after putting this bad-boy together this morning and going over our small living room carpet 4 times throughout the day, and going over the same spots over and over again, I have decided we should just pull up the carpet and put down hardwood. I dumped out all the crud the vacuum sucked up in between each use and it is still sucking up dust and crap
I don't want ds to play on the floor anymore after seeing this, and he loves to roll around on the carpet playing with daddy and his toys. I'm so grossed out.
I can't possibly spend every waking minute vacuuming, but I won't be able to rest until I can go over the living room floor and see NOTHING in the canister. The funky part is that I can see what has been sucked up while I'm cleaning. That is just wrong (haha)
Was I better off thinking my old vacuum was doing a good job? Too late now. Just wait till hubby gets home, we have to talk about hardwood floors, that is all there is to it.

I remember using my dyson for the first time I was AMAZED at what my bissell pet vacuum didn't bother picking up!!! I was so grossed out and now I'm obsessed with vacuuming and my vacuum.

How old is the carpet in your house. Your carpet pad could be falling apart and that is what the vacuum is picking up. Our carpet isn't very old since we live in a newer house but we are still thinking of pulling up the carpet and put in fake wood floors. So much easier to clean especially with 3 dogs.

I know I have sand hiding in my carpet! We have cleaned out our vents but their is a crack in it and we have sand in the vents, we have filters on the vents so it helps a little but not too much i can do about it unless I were to bust up my concrete floor and put in new vents.

I think the new vacuums are so powerful that a lot of what you see is part of your carpet. I have a Dyson, and I vacuum everyday and still get a lot of junk each time. My SIL bought a Kirby and after a few months of using it her carpet was ruined!

Our carpet isn't very old since we live in a newer house but we are still thinking of pulling up the carpet and put in fake wood floors. So much easier to clean especially with 3 dogs. We moved in here 3-years ago and we were told the carpet had been replaced prior to us looking at the house. I am curious if the padding was replaced too, which it should have been. Our carpet is a short shag with taupe like color with burgundy and green touches throughout and always looked nice and clean, especially since we have a carpet cleaner and use that often as well. But we are looking in to replacing the carpet for something shorter. I also want to look in to hardwood floors. We had them in our last house and I thought I wanted carpet in our next house but now I want to go back to hardwood (a woman is never truly happy, haha). I cleaned our living room 4 times last night and it's just YUCK what the carpet cleaner is still pulling up. I even took the trash can outside last night and dug through the pile of gunk and my hands turned to dust. I was curious if maybe it was the carpet coming apart, but I don't know.... I'm hoping it's a scam and the filter is making all this to make you spread the word and have more people buy

ooooooo nooooooo let's NOT go there, Gina!!!
I'm in the vacume/dust nearly every day, and sometimes will vacume twice in a day... 4 dogs, 3 kids, 2 cats, 1 dh.... It's a BAD DEAL around here. When I have to spot clean a portion of the carpet with my Carpet Cleaner, it's BEYOND disgusting... and I don't think floor changes is in the near future! Our bedroom is just as bad...

poor susan, but I'm sure your house is full of love too. We don't have any pets now and I'm determined to get this carpet clean, if not it will come up.

Amen on the Dyson -- I never knew what the old vaccum was leaving behind until we switched to only Dyson's in our house.

I just got a new shark vacuum and it does a wonderful job. I have half hardwood and half carpet. We can't have hardwood down the basement, but I want to get new carpet. Amen to us women never knowing what we want!!
