How do you wash hats at home?? (Like baseball style hats) I really don't want to go to a dry cleaner.

I have heard of the dishwasher thing too...but also haven't tried it! I want to say DH has just put his through the washer but I really can't remember.

Hmmm, I don't know if my DH EVER washes his hats, and that's pretty gross when I think about it! Hah!! I guess if I had to I would just hand wash them and let them air dry. (But I must admit I HATE hand washing anything!)

Then when you dry it put it over a plastic coffee can to help maintain the shape. We use a rubber band to hold it in place too.

Do you use soap or anything when you put them in the dishwasher or just turn it on??
Jazzy- Lol I'd rather wash DH's hats then have him go buy new ones.

I always throw DH in the washer, he wears them all the time and I just put them in with clothes and let them air dry. I have been doing this for many years and never had any issues and it is nice when they look clean again and I just feel better with them being clean

We had this plastic thing that we could put them on to keep the shape and then we would just put them in the wash....I think some of dh's need to either go in the garbage OR get washed...ugh.

Ooo what's that "plastic thing" called?? lol Where can I get it?? That 's the one thing he's worried about is the shape and whatnot getting all messed up.

Yep we had one of the plastic things too, think it is still sitting downstairs, one of the snaps broke off of it so once that happened I just started throwing the hats in without it and I actually prefer it without the plastic thing. Because with the thing it straightens out the brim more and my husband is very particular on the "curve" of his hat and that thing just messed with it too much. All the hats he is are fitted expensive hats and none of them have been wreaked yet. Just make sure you air dry them
