Our daughter just turned 1 yr. old, and we’re starting to work on phasing out the bottles. However, I’m not really sure how to do this! I know her nighttime bottle could just be replaced with a bedtime snack (I’m not sure what, but something!), but it’s the morning ones that are giving me a hard time. Right now she has one around 6:45/7:00 am when she wakes up, then goes to daycare and I guess has a small breakfast. From what our provider says, she usually doesn’t eat much, probably because she has a bottle before she leaves. Then, around 8:30/9:00 she has another bottle and goes down for her morning nap. I know part of what they provide at daycare is three meals, plus snacks. But she is ready for those morning bottles, when she wakes up and before she goes down for a nap. I feel like it would be weird to give her a good breakfast at home since she can get that at daycare. And how do we get rid of that bottle before her nap? I’ve told my husband numerous times, it’s amazing how having a child can make you feel so clueless!! Help! How do you get rid of bottles?!!

I'd start offering her a sippy cup of milk with meals so she gets used to that. Then I'd give her food for breakfast with her sippy cup instead of the bottle. Same at nap time. Drinks from the sippee cup.
Start on a weekend so you can do the NEW system on Sat & Sun.
My kids had sippy cups with meals and still had morning and night bottles. One day I just stopped cold turkey. Gave them sippy cups instead and they were fine.

We introduced a sippy cup around 6 or 7 months with water just so DD would get use to it. By about 9 or 10 months I started putting breastmilk in the sippys once a day and shortly after her first birthday we have moved completely to sippy cups. It took awhile to find one that she really liked and did well with, but once we found it she got excited to use it for meals and with snacks!
