Do you make them? Do you think about them this early? Do you stick to them?
I have a few things on my list of "resolutions" for the new year...
In no particular order:
become a bone marrow donor (be the match) take ASL classes so I don't lose 8 years of training learn to knit or crochet start writing again, and get serious about writing children's books volunteer with either big brother/big sister or Kinship....
I'll probablyhave more, but those are the top!

I do not make New Years Resolutions, I tend to not stick to something like that. Something that I would like to do is pull my camera out again and actually have time to take pictures.

I don't typically make New Years Resolutions....though I do often take some time to reflect on life and maybe consider some goals.
I just made a mid-November resolution to lose weight and exercise...I tend to stick to goals better when they come from me and don't feel forced at New Years....

That's kind of how I am too... I'm setting some goals for myself, not necessarily to start Jan 1st but that will continue throughout the year!

My top resolutions are the same as they've been for the past 5 years, maybe I can stick to it this year!?: 1. Lose 30 pounds 2. Quit smoking (makes the first one a lot harder!) 3. Payoff debt 4. Get a promotion (this one's new )

I used to make them. Don't anymore. I never stick to them anyways.

I usually do not make any resolutions, but I do reflect some on where i am going or want to be. I do have a "bucket list" of sorts and continually work on those-- sort of. !. get black belt 2. write book (publishing is a different thing) 3. learn an instrument 4. learn another language

Nope- don't like the tradition of frivolus resolution making. It seems forced and very few people stick to something they have been forced into.

I would alsolike to lose weight, but I think that is what most people say they want to do as a "resolution" and that is why they don't... I'm not gonna make that a resolution, but a healthy lifestyle change for the new year!!

I usually make a new year's resolution but haven't even THOUGHT about it yet. But this thread makes me want to sit down and mull over my options ... hmmm ... The most successful resolution I made was many years ago when I was a newlywed. I was a TERRIBLE, inexperienced cook but I wanted to learn how to make better food (both nutrition- and taste-wise). I made the resolution to try one new recipe a month, and I had so much fun that I ended up trying a new recipe almost every week. Some of the ones I tried then are family favorites today, and the process led me to the surprising discovery that I really enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes.

my goal for this year was to have more fun and worry about money less. I was succesful and we had a pretty fun year as a family. I also got rid of a negative "friend" in my life and haven't looked back. Life is too short to be around people that are toxic! I don't have any special goals for next year - just keep on keeping on I guess!

I started a running blog last Jan because I set the resolution to run 500 miles in 2011. a few months in, something happened to the blog and it was gone. for good. Not thinking to track my mileage elsewhere, my count was also lost I'm confident I will have achieved that resolution, but this year I'd like to start up another blog on the same topic, but my mileage is sure to be higher because I BADLY want to do a half marathon in 2012!!
