Thanks Renee! It's amazing how much better I feel. Over the years I've "dieted" and always end up falling off the wagon. I finally decided I just have to change my lifestyle in order to actually lose weight and feel better. I do have one "cheat meal" a week so I still get to indulge in my favorite treats sometimes dara1012 I also bought a fitbit around the same time! I work in DT Minneapolis and I take the train most days. The train stop is almost a mile from my work, there is a shuttle bus that I could take but I walk instead and it takes me about 20 minutes each way. On the days when I walk both ways (which is most days now) and walk on my break I am able to get my 10,000 steps in. On the days when I take the bus instead (only about a 2 block walk to/from work) I barely even get half of my steps in. I can't wait until this weather lightens up so we can go for walks around my neighborhood after work. But food prep has definitely been my biggest helper in losing weight. We're so busy I used to just grab whatever I could or we'd end up eating out a lot. I haven't bought any fast food, gas station food, cafeteria food, etc. in over 2 months now. We're saving $$ and getting healthier! It's so nice in the morning to have my meals already ready to just grab and go.

At my old workplace they had a challenge once a year where you'd wear a pedometer and track your steps with the goal of 10,000 a day --- it was very interesting to see what my different days would end up tracking. If I went for a run or did a class at the gym it was no problem, but on the more sedentary days it was depressing!!! I would hate to see how little I walk at my new job, but I should find that pedometer and check it out.
