Got it. Bob Costas just said it's her second gold.

Aly won gold as part of the team earlier.
In terms of uniforms the swimmers are allowed to wear what they feel most comfortable in and feel makes them fastest so they do not have a USA team one manufactured. I found it odd that the gymnasts (women) have worn all varieties of colors. To me they could have a team issued one to wear for all competitions. I also think the gray jacket is not very patriotic but it is better than the brown one some USA sports have had which IMO is just ugly.

I love the grey with the lime green shoes, it's fun! Grey is my fav color though so I am obviously going to be a fan. haha

I love the grey and green too!! But Grey is also one of my favorite colors... paired with purple or green! Anyone see any of the rediculously awesome mens gymnastics on the High Bar yesterday? WOW!! My body could never do anything any of these gymnasts do!

It's incredible. Their strength and agility is mind boggling.

So, Aly's bronze on beam- it sucks for the Romanian girl that it was "taken away" from her the way it was, but Aly's routine was MUCH better as far as execusion goes (glad that the judges base tie-breaker scores on that instead of artisticness.) Thank goodness for Bela, though, because Aly's coach wouldn't have disputed the judgement, otherwise!

Aly though lost a medal and ended up 4th in the individual all-around by a tie-breaker. So I am glad that out of the tie-breakers at least one went her way.

Yep, I saw that, too, Dara. I'm just glad that the technique is the tie-breaker and not the artistry- as I seem to remember it being like in figure skating. (Though I could easily be wrong on that one, but I "think" that is how Oksana Biuel won the gold way back in the day over Nancy Karrigan.)

Yes, I think you are right on the figure skating.....the hard part with the "judged" competitions is that there is so much room for judge bias and that can make a difference between what place you get. Especially when it's about artistry, that is so hard to compare IMO

I didn't realize it was USA vs USA in beach volleyball! Congrats to all 4 of those ladies!
