I believe it takes a village too Amy but sadly Dh and I are often left out in the cold. My parents are supportive but don't give much time to us either to help.
I decided to take away DH's parents privileges of seeing the kiddos for a while. I am too mad to even look at them anyway.

Hi Hannah,
So sorry to hear of fil & mil reactions. Sorry too, that your parents don’t give much time to help. Sorry too, to hear you are often feel left out in the cold.
Have you considered looking for an older couple to be honorary Grandparents? I don’t know if you are involved in a church, but that is usually a good place to look. Godparents? Older neighbors? Aunties or Uncles? Or Honorary Aunties or Uncles?
I’ve been an honorary Auntie to quite a few friends children, especially to those that don’t have involved Grandparents. I have enjoyed it and the Moms especially appreciated it. In the past I have given a night away, or a weekend away. I’d babysit, parents go on date time. Now, with my health, I have not been able to do it.

Aunt Sue- we don't attend church, don't have good neighbors and all of our aunts and uncles with the exception of 1 are not available to help. My one auntie is fabulous but she works a ton.
We get by well enough I suppose. I just feel bad most of my family doesn't want to be more involved. My parents have made it clear they are only available on weekends which doesn't help much.
I am getting so anxious for you two! Just waiting to hear the news!!

not feeling so great today... don't know if it's the weather or baby related... just really headachy and groggy.. lots more pain and pressure, but don't have another docs appt til Friday... I have this feeling she isn't going to be early, she's just gonna stay in there as long as possible, make me uncomfortable but then be an easy delivery!

and it absolutely takes a village... I don't know what I'd do w/o a support system like Mike and I have. His parents are great and are really there anytime I need them.. any day or time of the week... My parents and rest of the family want me home to NY so bad because they crave being a part of my kid's life.... Were very blessed and fortunately haven't had to worry about affording another child. I think I'd be beside myself Hannah if either set of parents acted as if they didn't care.

i'm with ya sarah. i feel like she's just going to make me EXTREMELY uncomfortable for the next 2 weeks. Ugh. but hopefully that easy delivery is for real! I go in today. Hoping she says I'm at like 3 cm...70% efaced. that would be awesome. but i doubt it lol

Sorry to hear the reactions! That is ridiculous. Good luck those that are almost there! Fingers crossed for easy deliveries!
We sent out our pictures on Monday. Got a ton of texts and phone calls from family yesterday. Everyone is pretty excited. My brother is out of town, so he doesn't know yet, but hopefully this weekend. Can't wait for him to find out!
We've been pretty lucky with family help. But, I still see friends whose parents take the kids for weekend. We don't have that. Grandparents will help when they can, but only babysit for a few hours at a time. Our sisters have babysat over night before, but even that is rare.

i feel ya. my parents or DHs parents have never, and probably will never take them overnight when they're young. My mom has done it more that DD is older...but she would never when she was little.

I showed REALLY early with this one bschneid. at like 8-9 weeks. i had to tell my work early because i literally couldn't hide it anymore.
Went to the doc yesterday. Dilated to 2 cm, 40% efaced. Cervix has shortened quite a bit and I've had a terrible....TERRRRRIBLE migraine since yesterday at about 11. I asked doc about it, she said it could be because of the hormonal change you go through right before labor...meeaaaning....labor could be right around the corner. I've been having really bad back labor for 2-3 days now...so i'm hoping she's right! COME ON BABY!

Amy I seem to be having that same back pain too... for a couple days now... I didn't have it with pres. I couldn't sleep last night because I couldn't breathe in any position I laid in... not congestion, literally short of breath. I'm hoping it is soon for us too!!
