I know that you and I read the same style, Sarah, so that's where I got my recommendation from for the Born series. I have to say it's hard for me to put down. I just want to know what's going to happen next. I will have to add the others to my list.

I just finished The Woman of Porto Pim. It's a very unique book--super short, filled with small little tales about the sea and whaling, part whimsical, part sorrowful, a rather strange mix. But the writing-craft of it was really good.

I'm reading Howard Zinn's A People's History Of The United States. It's the story of the groups in this country whose stories are usually not told. As is always said, history is written by the winners, and this is the story of our country from the perspective of those who lost along the way - Blacks, Indians, Women, the poor. A lot of it I knew, but it's been very interesting and I'm certainly learning things in more detail. I'm reading the child's version, A Young People's History Of The United States, at the same time with Ian.

I read the first two Shadow Falls series books by CC Hunter -- Born at Midnight & Awake at Dawn. They're really good! I'm hoping to get the next few from the library so I can finish the series -- they are quick reads. DH was making fun of me yesterday because I was almost done with one book and did NOT want to put it down ...

Read Allegiant, the third & last book in the Divergent series. I thought the first 2/3 of the book was pretty slow moving, but the last 1/3 was intense with a shocking ending.

I finished the Enclave series -- Enclave, Outpost, Horde. They are very intense and kinda scary but good! Post-apocalyptic intense, what's-going-to-happen-next type books that sucked me in and had a good ending.
